Traditional Bulgarian Kyufte Recipe

Equipment

  • 1 Large Bowl
  • 1 Frying pan
  • 1 Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 2 lb minced meat (60% pork, 40% beef)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 glove garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ cup fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Cut the fresh parsley into small pieces and set a side.
  • In a large bowl mix well all ingredients together, half of the fresh parsley and then cover and place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • Place a frying pan over medium heat with oil.
  • Take out the bowl and start forming balls then flatten into patty-like pieces.
  • You can make about 18-20 pieces.
  • Place them in the frying pan and fry them till turning brown for a few minutes then turn the other side.
  • Transfer to a paper towel to take out any extra oil and arrange them into a plate.
  • You can serve them with lutenitsa, potato salad and green spring salad. Enjoy!
  • Don't forget to have a Bulgarian rakia with it.
